Eradication. Sterilization. Re-Population. Re-Infection. These are the guiding tenets of the much anticipated sequel to the most excellent Danny Boyle film, 28 Days Later.

Kinda annoyed by this. Just sick and tired that every time a movie is any good, there's almost always a sequel. The ending of 28 days later was fantastic.
In the horror genre, I think this type of idea plays much better. Extends the story, kind of like a comic book. Totally agree with your point in other genres, but this one begged for more (story).
